Jyothirmai Kondapaneni, MD
I speak: English, Hindi
My gender: Female
Where I practice
Growing up in a small town in India, I heard many sad stories involving people with poor health. Having close family members with chronic medical conditions made me realize how much a doctor is needed to help people have a better quality of life. Therefore, I developed an interest in the medical profession at a very young age. After I finished my medical training at one of the prestigious medical schools in India, I moved to New York to complete my residency. During my training, I witnessed the hard battles fought against cancer and the new treatment approaches in cancer and blood disorders. This caused me to focus my career in hematology and oncology.
About my practice
After finishing my fellowship in New York, I moved to Atlanta with my family. Currently, I work with a team of dedicated staff and practice hematology/oncology (cancer and blood disorders) at the Gwinnett Medical Center. We also provide chemotherapy infusion services. My special areas of interest are breast and colon cancers. I enjoy taking care of our members, helping members get through life’s tough times and getting to know the patients and their families. It is the lasting personal relationship that often develops during the long duration of therapy which makes the field of oncology unique and rewarding.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids. My other hobbies are cooking and gardening.
