About me

My name is Janice Vivaldi and my pronouns are she/her. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and completed my college and medical education there. In 2018, I moved to Texas for my Ob/Gyn training where I spent four years training and caring for patients in the U.S./Mexico border city of El Paso, Texas.

From a very young age I was interested in a health care career. I was always the "go-to" person when someone needed a first aid kit. In high school, I went to a leadership forum focused on medicine and got a chance to see part of an open heart surgery. That solidified my decision to pursue medicine.

During my college years I shadowed Ob/Gyn residents and got to participate as a support person during a birth. That was the start of my passion for pregnancy, labor, and delivery. This expanded to a love of gynecology as well during medical school and ultimately dictated my decision to pursue obstetrics and gynecology.

After four years in the Texas desert, we longed to be closer to home, and Atlanta was the best fit for us. My family and I love Georgia and I am proud to be a member of the Kaiser Permanente family.

About my practice

The main aspect of my practice is patient autonomy. I truly believe that our members have a say in the decisions of what happens to them. My job as your doctor is to give you all the information you need to make a decision about your care.

I also believe patient education is an essential part of high-quality care and I strive to educate every single patient on what is normal, what their diagnoses means, and what their options are. The best way to provide preventive care is to be proactive and to educate, thus I center my practice around these principles.

There is a lot I love about my specialty, but pregnancy and endometriosis are my true passions. I enjoy educating our members about physiologic birth, VBACs, and breastfeeding. Globally, it takes 7-9 years for a person to be diagnosed with endometriosis. Many patients suffer in silence for years before being diagnosed, and I hope to be an advocate within my field for all of the endometriosis community. There is a special feeling when I am able to provide a holistic approach to care, which is why I love the Kaiser Permanente care model.

How I thrive

I thrive by enjoying each day to the max and cultivating relationships in my life that help me continue to grow as a woman and physician. Spending time with family and friends is one of the most important things in life.

In order to lead a healthy and fulfilling life, you have to practice what you preach. I work hard to have healthy eating and fitness habits, and I believe there are many ways to promote health. I am currently working on being better at incorporating more whole food, plant-based meals into my diet and doing yoga more consistently.

I am happily married to my high school sweetheart and we have the most adorable "fur-babies," Bella and Pepe. Some of my passions outside of medicine include traveling, cooking, reading, writing and learning new things.

If no plan types are listed, the facility is available for all plan types.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.

Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process. Board certification may not reflect contracted services available from providers listed in our directory. If you have questions regarding this or about any of our providers, call us at 1-800-611-1811 (toll free). For the hearing and speech impaired: 1-888-865-5813 or 711 (TTY).
