About me
I earned my medical degree, with distinction in surgery, from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, followed by comprehensive surgical training in the southwest of England and service as a medical officer in the Royal Air Force.
After then completing an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, I completed three hand and microsurgery fellowships: at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky; the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre at Oxford University in England; and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, England.
After a short period as an attending hand surgeon in London, I joined the faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson in 2012, where I practiced for ten years and was Chief of Hand Surgery. I spent a subsequent year as an Associate Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2023.
I am board certified in orthopedic surgery in both the United States and the United Kingdom, by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and by the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
About my practice
I provide specialty orthopedic care for traumatic and non-traumatic injuries of the upper limb, from the elbow down. Having trained at a number of leading units around the world, I have been able to take the best techniques and practices of many institutions and refine them into the core services that I provide. I will exhaust non-operative management modalities where appropriate, before embarking on a surgical plan. I believe deeply in shared care, and my patients ultimately will always decide on the treatment route they wish to embark upon.
How I thrive
If it's broken, I like to fix it. This holds true for me both at work and at home, and I really enjoy home DIY projects. My time out from work is mostly filled with family responsibilities, but I otherwise enjoy tennis, the great outdoors and sailing.

Medicare Members: To request a hard copy of Kaiser Permanente’s provider directory, please call our Member Services department at 1-800-232-4404, seven days a week, 8 a.m to 8 p.m. Kaiser Permanente will mail a hard copy of the provider directory to you within three (3) business days of your request. Kaiser Permanente may ask whether your request for a hard copy is a one-time request or if you are requesting to receive the provider directory in hard copy permanently.
If you request it, your request for hard copies of the provider directory remains until you leave Kaiser Permanente or request that hard copies be discontinued.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
