About me
I was born and raised in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York. I moved to New England for college and graduate school to pursue my doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD). In addition to being licensed as a psychologist in the state of Georgia, I have chosen to pursue and complete my board certification in clinical psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). This national credential is currently held by only a few dozen other psychologists in Georgia. I moved to Georgia in 2006 following my internship and postdoctoral fellowship in Michigan and Ohio, respectively. My passion for psychology comes from a desire to help people be healthier and happier through greater self-understanding and increased ability to manage the common, as well as the not-so-common, problems that can arise in their lives.
About my practice
As a clinical psychologist with Kaiser Permanente, I provide several different types of services to our members. My practice includes individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessment/testing, program development and committee involvement. I enjoy working with a wide variety of problems and ages. However, I have particular expertise and experience in working with mood, relationship, personality, substance use, pornography/internet, suicide and fairly severe psychological issues. In my work with our members, I typically focus on the interpersonal, cognitive and systemic aspects of their lives. I tailor the treatment to the member to best meet their personal and psychological goals. In general, my work with our members is directed toward helping them address the problems they are experiencing so that they can lead happy, fulfilling lives.
How I thrive
To me, thriving involves pursuing a balanced life of work, relationships and fun - and trying to find a way to not have these become mutually exclusive from each other! I enjoy reading, playing music, traveling and spending time with my wife, family, friends and dog. Laughter is important to me, and I value quality time spent just having fun without feeling the pressure to be "doing something" at all times. I find physical activity, whether it is exercise or just stretching, to be a wonderful source of relaxation and stress relief as well.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
