Kaiser Permanente medical center practitioner
My gender: Male
Yes, I’m accepting new patients. Referral may be required.
I grew up in Minneapolis, Minn. I have had an interest in science from early childhood. I decided at a young age that medical school was the most appropriate way to focus that interest in science, as it applies directly to people. I have also always had an interest in preventive medicine, to stay healthy and try to prevent illness. I decided to come to Atlanta for residency at Emory University for many reasons. These included an interest in the training program at Emory, an interest in working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a desire to live in the Atlanta area.
For the past few years, I have served as chief of the Kaiser Permanente Palliative Care Department. I have also worked in Kaiser Permanente's Hospitalist Department at Northside Hospital and Piedmont Hospital. Involving our members in the process of making informed, shared decisions empowers them and keeps them invested in their own care. I look at every patient interaction as an opportunity for me to grow and learn as a doctor. This allows me to do my very best for our Kaiser Permanente community.
I believe strongly in a balanced approach to life. I try to eat well, exercise regularly and spend time with family and friends on a regular basis. I enjoy traveling to see other parts of the United States, as well as other countries and cultures.
