Amena M. Imtiaz, MD
I speak: English, Urdu
My gender: Female
Where I practice
I spent most of my life in Augusta, Ga. and loved growing up in a small community. My parents are still there, and I do go back and visit frequently. My husband is from Los Angeles, and we have been married since 2008. We decided to move to Atlanta in 2010, and we really enjoy the metro area. We have two beautiful sons and use our weekends for quality family time.I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, but what I did not know was that I wanted to be a neurologist. I wanted to be a doctor so that I could improve someone's quality of life, thereby helping them have more productive and enjoyable lives. I found this in the field of neurology. I find the human brain fascinating, and I enjoy my work. The field of neurology is continuously growing and new ideas are constantly being explored. I enjoy learning about new research as it becomes available as it can better help our members.
About my practice
I am a general neurologist and enjoy treating members with a wide variety of neurological issues. Some of these issues include, but are not limited to: migraines, neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, seizures, movement disorders and dementia.
How I thrive
I enjoy traveling and reading fiction. Although I have not had as much time for traveling as I would like, I definitely look forward to traveling with my boys as they grow older. Right now, our weekends are surrounded by our children, and I enjoy watching them learn new things and experience new events in their lives.
