Your little one is around 2 pounds, about 14 inches long, and close to the size of a head of cauliflower.
This week, your baby’s:
- Sleeping and waking patterns are becoming more regular. You may notice their sleeping and waking pattern is similar even during the first weeks after they are born, as they adapt to life outside the womb.
- Brain tissue is actively developing. Your baby might begin to move in response to noises. Talk, read and sing to your baby as they will begin to recognize your voice.
- Your baby’s face may look similar to how it will appear at birth, but smaller and thinner.
- Body and face are still covered with a protective waxy coating (vernix).
As your baby’s brain further develops, now is not the time to limit healthy foods or fill up on empty calories. Be sure to continue good eating habits to ensure the best nutrition for your baby to grow..
