Diabetes Basics

(English, 1-session) – You can feel better and be active and healthy when you apply the basics of managing your Type 2 diabetes. In this class, we give you an overview of the five key areas of Type 2 diabetes management: healthy eating, exercise, monitoring your blood sugar levels, proper use of medication, and managing your stress.

Diabetes Basics for the Filipino Community

(English, 1-session) – This is a Diabetes Basics class centered on Filipino culture and foods. Note: This class is taught in English.

Diabetes Glucose Meter Review

(English, 1-session) – In this workshop taught by a Clinical Health Educator, you’ll learn how to set up your glucose meter, check your blood sugars, and safely discard your lancets.

Healthy Eating with Diabetes

(English, 1-session) – Feel better and eat better with diabetes. In this class, you’ll get tips on planning meals, counting carbs, and reading foods labels. Learn new ways to prepare your favorite foods and how to enjoy eating out healthfully. With smart planning and balanced choices, eating well can still taste great.

Diabetes Nutrition

(1-session) – This 2-hour advanced class focuses on the skills you need to modify your current diet to regulate your sugar and make healthy food choices confidently. In this class, you will review meal planning guidelines, carbohydrate counting, and how to read food labels. You’ll also learn about the potential effects of major nutrients on blood glucose, ways to prepare your favorite foods, and how to enjoy eating out.
Prerequisite: Healthy Eating with Diabetes (1-session)

Pre-diabetes and You

(English, 1-session) – Learn how to help prevent or delay the onset of diabetes by eating well and exercising. These healthy lifestyle changes will help you take charge of your health to reduce your risk of diabetes and its complications.
