Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points to stimulate healing. Acupuncture is one component of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and it is used as one component of a treatment program for chronic pain. It may also be of help for nausea or vomiting, especially when associated with chemotherapy.
A clear diagnosis needs to be established before treatment, therefore a referral is required. Acupuncture alone is less likely to be effective in relieving severe pain, therefore it is used along with other self-care programs such as physical therapy, exercise, pain management, acupressure, etc.

The Nutritional Services department provides food and clinical services to the inpatient population of the hospital. A selective menu is available for various diet therapies. Food substitutions are available when patients dislike their meal or do not feel up to eating their meal. Snacks are available upon request or as a part of the overall diet therapy. Kaiser Permanente may ask whether your request for a hard copy is a one-time request or if you are requesting to receive the provider directory in hard copy permanently.
If you request it, your request for hard copies of the provider directory remains until you leave Kaiser Permanente or request that hard copies be discontinued.
