Where I practice
About me
I was born in Europe and spent my first 12 years living abroad before moving to New York to be closer to family. After graduating from Pitzer College in California and the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, I completed a family medicine internship at Swedish Family Medicine and my pediatric residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. I also pursued additional training in pediatric mental health and autism.
I’m a board-certified pediatrician, recipient of the Gold Humanism Award, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and assistant clinical professor at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. Throughout my education and career, my family has been a constant source of encouragement, support, and inspiration.
My path to Maui has taken me through a wide range of communities and clinical settings, from California and North Carolina to American Samoa, the Caribbean, Central America, and the Philippines. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of caring for children and their families in outpatient pediatrics, hospital settings, pediatric emergency departments, and urgent care clinics. These experiences taught me that while every child and every situation is unique, parents everywhere are doing the best they can for the children they love. I hope to make that job a little easier by partnering with families and providing compassionate, evidence-based care to help them make decisions that are right for their children.
About my practice
I was drawn to medicine because I wanted a career that was both intellectually challenging and centered on relationships. Children are resilient, courageous, and full of wonder, and I love that every stage of childhood—from birth through young adulthood—brings new opportunities to learn, support, and celebrate. I’m honored to help families through the ups, downs, and unexpected surprises along the way.
I’ve always loved teaching and contributing to medical education. I’ve co-authored a publication in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and have spoken at conferences on attention deficit disorder, short stature, neonatal bleeding, meningitis, and pediatric respiratory illnesses. My interests include holistic care, adolescent medicine, obesity and chronic care, mental health, and care for underserved communities.
Hawaii Permanente Medical Group emphasizes prevention, whole-person health, and collaboration. I feel fortunate to be part of an inspiring group of clinicians and staff who genuinely care about one another and the families they serve.
How I thrive
I try to move often, laugh often, make time for family and friends, and enjoy good food in good company! I believe strong connections and acts of kindness are at the heart of a healthy, happy life. Outside of work, you’ll find me playing in the ocean with my kids, paddleboarding during whale season, photographing and tending my garden and night-blooming jasmine, reading historical fiction, or dancing salsa and West African dance.
I’ve been honored to volunteer with the Lahaina mobile health effort following the catastrophic fires and participate in Kaiser Permanente’s Annual Day of Service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I care deeply about our community and contribute through wetland and dune restoration, Hawaiian cultural preservation, beach cleanups, volunteering at my children’s school, leading art classes, chaperoning field trips, and mentoring high school students interested in health care careers.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
