About me

I was born in Olongapo City, Philippines. My mother and father have always been my main source of inspiration, especially now that I have my own family. My husband and two children are my pride and joy. I believe that education comes in many forms; my family teaches me about patience and true love and my patients teach me about humility and genuine caring.

About my practice

I decided to pursue a career in medicine because I wanted to give back what was given to me in my own time of need. An amazing doctor was knowledgeable enough to know that I needed heart surgery and many more were caring enough to ensure that I had the right medical care. As a family medicine physician I feel that health care is not only about a single body part but also the physical, mental and emotional triumphs and tribulations we all face in life. My philosophy of care is about partnership. I like to help my patients in good times and bad, guiding them with any difficult medical decisions and encouraging them to be active in their self care. I strive to listen well and connect with each of my patients. I feel guided and supported by the physicians and staff of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. My colleagues are caring and intelligent individuals who work hard to provide the best care possible. I have also enjoyed being involved in my department’s quality measures review, sharing cases and information, which provides a great deal of learning and value for me and my peers.

How I thrive

I work and play hard, but it’s also important to me to get a healthy amount of sleep, and stop to smell the roses every once in awhile. I enjoy hiking, biking, going to the beach, playing tennis and plan to dust off the rollerblades quite soon.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
