About me
I grew up in Haridwar, India, an ancient city located along the Ganges River where it emerges from the Himalayan foothills. Coming from a family of physicians, I was naturally drawn to the dynamic, challenging and highly gratifying career in medicine. During the course of my medical education, I noted wide disparities in health care access, within delivery and quality of care among different populations. This inspired me to obtain a graduate degree in public health (MPH) from the University of Texas. While working on my MPH, I was involved in research on interrelationships between hormones, diet, body size and breast cancer among Hispanic women. From there I went on the complete five years of general surgery residency at the University of Toledo and a three-year plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University. The Vanderbilt program is among the premier plastic and reconstructive surgery training programs in the country where I received comprehensive training in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery by world-renowned experts. I am proud to be working at Kaiser Permanente with the mission of providing high-quality, personalized care to our members with emphasis on safety.
About my practice
My experience and interests span across the breadth of the specialty of plastic surgery. I focus my practice on cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery. I am well versed in both implant-based and autologous breast reconstruction as well as different techniques of breast reduction surgery. My other interests are body contouring and reconstruction of defects following excision of cancerous and non-cancerous skin lesions. My philosophy is to obtain the desired outcome in a safe manner by means of effective communication, risk assessment, technical proficiency and actively involving members in their care. I work with members in assessing their individual needs and formulate the treatment plan tailored to their well-being and desired outcomes.
How I thrive
A satisfying day at work and quality time spent with my growing family is the source of my happiness and drive. My family is my anchor and I draw immense joy in watching my son grow, achieve new milestones, and explore the world around him. My wife is a source of inspiration for me and, being a sports medicine physician, she guides me towards healthy lifestyle choices. A flourishing family and professional life helps reinforce my sense of purpose.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
