About me
I am a native of Middle Tennessee, but Atlanta has felt more like home every day since I moved here after medical school. I first thought about entering the medical field in high school, but I decided to pursue it as a career after working as an emergency medical technician (EMT) in college and also volunteering with an international relief organization around the same time. I was introduced to gastroenterology in medical school while on a rotation that was focused on the care of patients with liver disease. The chance to meet patients with a wide range of ages, to treat both acute and chronic diseases, and to provide procedural care makes me excited to be in this field. I feel privileged to be able to provide assistance and enjoy that every day is a little different.
About my practice
I am excited to be a part of the Gastroenterology Department at Kaiser Permanente. I am a general gastroenterologist, which means that I have a strong interest in colon cancer screening, reflux disease, liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and a wide variety of other conditions. One of the reasons I joined Kaiser Permanente is because I felt that the health care system as a whole, and its physicians in particular, are interested in providing the right care in the right place at the right time. My goal with each member is to provide a level of care that I would want for a close family member.
How I thrive
Whenever I have a day that I am able to learn something new, be physically active and help someone else beyond what I am required, I feel I am thriving. To stay active, I enjoy hiking, biking, golf and going to the gym. I have always been a bit of a sports junkie, and I enjoy following teams with a connection to my hometown of Nashville.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
