Where I practice
About me
I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, and am the youngest of five children. Growing up, I was deeply inspired by my parents - my mom, a physics professor, and my dad, a civil engineer - who instilled in me the values of hard work and good character at a young age.
I attended Duke University (Go Duke!), where I majored in neuroscience and volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. After graduation, I spent two years teaching 7th-grade science in an underserved community outside of Washington, D.C. That experience strengthened my commitment to education and service, but ultimately, I pivoted to medicine, a field where I could blend my love for science with my desire to make a lasting, meaningful impact on people's lives.
As a surgeon, I take great pride in being able to use my hands and technical skills to improve my patients' lives. I consider it a true privilege to serve our members, supporting them through their health journeys and helping them improve their quality of life. My path has always been guided by a passion for learning, service, and giving back, and I approach each day with a with a deep sense of purpose and dedication to my patients.
About my practice
In my practice, I firmly believe in every individual's agency over their own health. My approach to care is centered around shared decision-making, where I work closely with our members to ensure they are well-informed and supported at every step. Together, we navigate health care decisions, and I am here to provide guidance and expertise along the way.
I treat a variety of surgical conditions, including heartburn, hernias, gallstones, appendicitis, and colon-related issues. In addition, I have completed advanced training in minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery, allowing me to offer specialized treatments such as sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, complex hernia repairs, and solutions for foregut problems.
Minimally invasive techniques, including robotic surgery, are a particular area of expertise for me. These innovative approaches not only allow for precision and enhanced outcomes but also minimize recovery times for my patients, helping them return to their daily lives more quickly.
How I thrive
My family and friends are my greatest sources of joy. Outside of my practice, I stay active by running (having completed several half marathons) and working out at Orangetheory. I also enjoy cooking, trying new restaurants with friends, and traveling to explore new cultures and broaden my horizons. These activities help me recharge and stay inspired, both personally and professionally.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
