About me
My wife and I are proud to be native Atlantans. After leaving for college in Houston, I returned here for medical school, residency and fellowship at Emory University. We have since made our home in Atlanta and enjoy many of the outdoor activities the city has to offer, as well as the proximity to our extended families.
I chose to pursue medicine a long time ago, likely stemming from my passion for teaching and the potential to make a real difference in people's lives. Cardiology has been a perfect fit for me, allowing me to focus on preventive strategies and further exposing me to sophisticated diagnostic tests to help people feel better.
About my practice
I am a general, invasive cardiologist with a specialized interest in congestive heart failure and structural/valvular heart disease. Over my time at Kaiser Permanente, I have had the honor to develop and oversee a robust, multidisciplinary clinic for our heart failure patients. We strive to assist patients with all facets of this disease process and work hard to provide optimal medical care for these patients.
I approach patient care as a willing partnership with the guiding principle of patient-centered decisions at the forefront. In addition to appreciating tools such as echocardiography and nuclear cardiology, as well as the amazing potential of some of our cardiovascular medicines, I am also a firm believer in lifestyle changes. It is my honor and pleasure to put together the right strategy to effectively improve our members' health.
How I thrive
I enjoy being busy, as I try to incorporate exercise into my daily routine while balancing the responsibilities of being a dad and husband. I enjoy running/walking, weight lifting, swimming, road cycling and playing competitive tennis. My other passions include soccer, vegetable gardening, fishing and spending time with my family. Finally, my wife and I love to travel with our two boys and learn about new cultures and places. I have been fortunate to travel to many parts of Europe, as well as central and South America! I try to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle and practice what I preach.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process. Board certification may not reflect contracted services available from providers listed in our directory. If you have questions regarding this or about any of our providers, call us at 1-800-611-1811 (toll free). For the hearing and speech impaired: 1-888-865-5813 or 711 (TTY).
