About me

I grew up in Mumbai, India, where mental health was often stigmatized and many suffered in silence. After moving to the U.S. for college, I developed a strong interest in medicine and became increasingly aware of the profound impact mental health has on both emotional and physical well-being. This journey sparked my passion for psychiatry and strengthened my commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness.

I completed my residency in General Psychiatry at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Queens, N.Y., followed by a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University/Northwell Health. During my training in New York City, I had the privilege of working with patients from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. These experiences deepened my understanding of mental health and reinforced my dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Biography

I specialize in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry, with a focus on ADHD, trauma, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. My approach is grounded in empathy and compassion, as I work to address the unique needs of each patient. I utilize a combination of evidence-based medication management and therapeutic strategies, tailoring treatment to the individual to help them manage symptoms and achieve lasting improvement in their mental health.

For children and adolescents, I focus on building trust and working closely with families to create a supportive environment for growth and healing. For adult patients, I provide comprehensive care to help them navigate life's challenges and improve their overall well-being. My goal is to empower patients of all ages to thrive by offering personalized, effective care that supports both their mental and emotional health.

About my practice

One of my greatest joys is cooking. There is something incredibly satisfying about experimenting with new recipes and flavors in the kitchen. I also cherish spending quality time with my loved ones, whether it is enjoying a meal together or just sharing laughs. Watching movies and shows is another favorite pastime, as it offers a chance to unwind and immerse myself in different stories and worlds. I am always on the lookout for new restaurants to try, enjoying the experience of discovering fresh flavors and supporting local spots. Dancing is another passion of mine, allowing me to express myself and have fun while staying active. All of these activities bring balance to my life, combining creativity, connection, and relaxation.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.

Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process.
