About Me

Hello, and welcome to the Allergy and Immunology Department at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center. My name is Joseph G. Dizon, and I am Chief of the Department. My goal is that all your clinical needs will be fully addressed should you seek consultation with any of the specialists in our department.

Biography

I grew up in Pennsylvania and come from a family dedicated to medicine. My father and two brothers are physicians, and my mother was a nurse. You can say that medicine is in my genes. After completing my undergraduate studies at Yale, I attended medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. I completed my residency at UCLA and my fellowship training in allergy and immunology at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. I am board certified in allergy and immunology and have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1996.

About my practice

In this specialized field of medicine, we treat patients with allergic or immunologic disorders. Common conditions we manage include asthma, allergic hay fever, sinusitis, eczema, hives, drug allergies, and food allergies. We also treat patients who have disorders of their immune system. These are patients who develop recurring illnesses due to immune deficiency. Such conditions can include common variable immune deficiency, hypogammaglobulinemia, complement disorders, or granulocyte disorders.

How I thrive

I believe it is important to maintain a balanced lifestyle that includes good nutrition and plenty of exercise. I also value what life offers each day. I look forward to spending time with my family and traveling with them to far away places. Also I find the most relaxation playing golf!
