About me

Born and raised in Idaho, my journey to medicine took an unconventional path. Before becoming a physician, I explored careers closely related to health care, which allowed me to witness the profound impact of doctor-patient interactions. These experiences ignited my passion for medicine and ultimately led me to pursue a career as a physician.

My dedication to healing is matched only by my devotion to family. I am blessed with a loving wife and two beautiful daughters who bring joy and balance to my life. Together, we cherish our time in in the great outdoors, whether hiking, biking, camping or simply enjoying peaceful moments by the lake.

This blend of professional calling and personal fulfillment shapes my approach to patient care. I bring not only medical expertise but also a deep appreciation for life's precious moments to every interaction, striving to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to all my patients.

About my practice

As a health care advisor, my approach to patient care is rooted in providing accurate, up-to-date, and evidence-based medical recommendations. I believe in empowering patients with knowledge, allowing them to make informed decisions about their health. Rather than dictating or preaching, I see my role as a guide, offering expert insight while respecting each patient's autonomy and personal circumstances.

My experience as a U.S. Navy physician has profoundly shaped my practice. This unique opportunity not only broadened my medical knowledge but also honed my ability to deliver high-quality care in challenging environments. I developed a knack for resourcefulness and innovation, often finding creative solutions with limited resources. This adaptability translates directly to my current practice, where I strive to provide optimal care regardless of constraints.

I am committed to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest medical advancements. This ensures that our members always receive cutting-edge care tailored to their individual needs. My goal is to foster a collaborative relationship with each patient, working together towards their best possible health outcomes.

How I thrive

"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." - John Muir

This profound observation by naturalist John Muir encapsulates my philosophy on thriving, both personally and professionally. As a physician, I have discovered that my connection with nature is fundamental to my well-being and, by extension, my ability to provide compassionate care.

I make it a priority to immerse myself in the natural world regularly. Whether it is a challenging hike in the mountains, a peaceful stroll through a local park, or simply tending to my plants, these experiences in nature rejuvenate my spirit and sharpen my senses. The quiet wisdom of the outdoors offers perspective, helping me navigate the complexities of modern medicine with a calm and centered approach.

"The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease." - Voltaire

While Voltaire's words are tongue-in-cheek, they highlight a profound truth that guides my approach to both medicine and personal well-being: the power of nature and the importance of balance. As a physician, I have come to appreciate the delicate equilibrium that exists in both the human body and the natural world. This understanding shapes my practice and my personal life.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.

Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process.
