About me
I am Jamaican-American, and my heritage is very important to me, especially the music and food! I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Those closest to me would say I have the travel bug. Jamaica, Italy, Greece and Dubai are among my favorite places I have visited thus far.
According to my mother, I have wanted to be a psychologist since I was 7 years old. I remember my pretend play with my siblings involved me placing them on a couch and asking them how their day was, while I took notes. I guess I was born for this profession and I truly believe I have found my calling.
About my practice
As a clinical psychologist I have worked with ethnically and clinically diverse populations. My training and work experiences range from juvenile detention centers and jails to an inpatient hospital and community based mental health center. I have had the pleasure of working for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California and now Georgia. Within my role at Kaiser Permanente, I provide therapeutic services both in individual and group settings, but I also have experience conducting psychological evaluations, as well as forensic assessments. I mainly practice from a cognitive behavioral therapy/dialectical behavioral therapy framework, because I believe this offers the client a variety of life changing skills. However, I have also grown fond of positive psychology, which places more emphasis on the member's strengths and the valuable resources they bring to the table.
How I thrive
When I think about thriving, I think about what it means to me to be successful. If I am doing well professionally, interpersonally and feeling healthy, then I consider myself successful. While I realize I will not be perfect in all these areas, I do my best to see some progress. Professionally, I like to keep up with current literature and trainings within the field of psychology. In my personal life I try to make time for my friends and family when I can, or at least send them messages letting them know how much I value them. Lastly, when it comes to health, I work out regularly and try to make healthy choices with my diet. My favorite forms of exercise are Zumba and cycling.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
