About me
Originally born in Alabama, I have lived in several states but consider South Florida to be my home, as I spent most of my adolescence there. I moved to Atlanta in late 2018 from Seattle. I miss the Pacific Northwest beauty but am grateful to be closer to my immediate family, who all live in Orlando. I enjoy practicing medicine because it allows me to care for patients and engage in research to further my field. My love for head and neck surgery is due to the anatomy and the variety; in one specialty, I can care for people of all ages, from treating trauma and cancer to performing endoscopic surgery, and provide continuity of care both in the clinic and the operating room. My main passion and expertise is in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, which I subspecialized in.
About my practice
I am board certified in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery (commonly known as ENT). My philosophy on medicine is to see the patient on a holistic level, realizing that it is not just medications or surgery but also listening, understanding and reassuring the patient. Many times, in medicine, we cannot say exactly what is going on, but we do our best to rule out the worst, and sometimes that is what a patient needs. My true passions are reconstructive and cosmetic facial plastic surgery and head and neck cancer.
I stay up-to-date with my field by attending national conferences and have been invited to speak and moderate at them. I also enjoy teaching and providing mentorships to residents in training and junior colleagues. This, along with reading medical journals, allows me to continue to be current with the latest in the field of head and neck surgery.
How I thrive
I thrive through laughter and staying fit and being active. This allows me to release tension and pressure and most importantly, clear my mind, so I can start each day new and refreshed. Hiking adventures keep me focused on the big picture and allow me to not dwell on the little things. Participating in humanitarian medical mission work with annual trips to Balfate, Honduras keeps me humble. Regular traveling helps me stay open minded to new experiences and ways of life, and reminds me of the things I enjoy. Most important is the company of my family and friends. Their support is how I have been successful.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
