About me

I grew up on a college campus in Ibadan, a city in southwestern Nigeria, West Africa. My late father was a college professor and college president, while my mother was a college administrator. My five siblings and I enjoyed growing up in the close-knit community of the university and I am still close to many of my childhood friends. I had a great childhood and my parents were very instrumental in instilling in us core values that are still guiding us today. My earliest memories of what I wanted to be when I grew up are of being a doctor. This was probably because I thought it was something fun to be initially, but genuine interest developed with time.

I attended high school, college and medical school in Nigeria and completed my pediatric residency in the U.S. when my husband and I immigrated here. My husband was my medical school sweetheart, who incidentally, also lived on the same college campus where I grew up. We are blessed with two incredible children.

About my practice

What drew me to pediatrics was the resilience of children and the goal of parents to want what is best for their child. I enjoy partnering with parents in the health care of their children, where health is not just the absence of disease but the overall well-being of the child. My specialty in general pediatrics affords me the privilege of being able to watch a child progress through all the stages from birth to young adulthood, and being a part of this journey with them has been a very rewarding thing for me. I also enjoy getting children engaged in the part they play in their health and happiness. The medical team, from the front office to the back office, plays an integral role in helping to provide the best experience to the families we provide care to any time these families walk through our doors.

How I thrive

My thriving has been a work in progress. I give my all while at work so I like to unplug from work once I come home. My husband has been very instrumental in making our home our safe space that I look forward to going to every single day. Our faith is a major part of our lives and acts as an anchor, guide and refuge as we journey through life.

I enjoy reading, going for walks, and sometimes watching movies or shows with my husband. We all also enjoy traveling as a family.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.

Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process.
