Where I practice
I was born in Gainesville, Fla., but raised in Atlanta from the age of four. I grew to appreciate the rare privilege a career in medicine provides by watching my father pursue a career in cardiology. After graduating high school from Westminster, I went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Rhodes College and a medical degree from Emory. When it came time to choose a specialty, I was drawn to family medicine because of the very practical and relational nature of the specialty. I completed my residency training at MUSC in Charleston, S.C. and have been board certified in family medicine since 2005. I truly enjoy the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with our members and believe that getting to know them better enables me to more effectively provide for their health care needs.
About my practice
My practice is oriented toward connecting with each patient, arriving at the proper diagnosis and then presenting each patient with options for treatment. It is important to me that our members feel involved in a shared decision-making process of the care they receive. I am fortunate to work in an excellent department staffed with outstanding people for a company that aligns with this health care philosophy as well.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children. I am active with my church and our children's school. When I am not cheering from the sidelines of one of my kid's baseball or basketball games, I enjoy a night out with my wife or a run or bike ride on the Greenway. Maintaining a healthy balance of mind, body and spirit is essential for me. My family and spiritual community helps me keep this balance so I can be the best physician I can be for our members.
