Where I practice
About me
I grew up in a small town in Central Ohio with supportive parents and protective older siblings. From a young age, I knew I wanted to help others in some way. Growing up with a physical disability, I was amazed by the passion others had to help me succeed in all aspects of my life. After volunteering at social service agencies in high school, I decided on the path of social work. The fulfillment I gained helping others in need, was a feeling I knew I wanted to continue in my career.
In my years as a social worker, I have worked with youth and adults in the community, school, and medical settings. What I love about the social work profession is that there are so many areas in which one can practice their social work skills. I am grateful that my social work path has led me to the Behavioral Health Department at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I tend to be mindful that we must treat our mind just like a broken bone. When it comes to a member taking the courageous first step to improve their mental health, that in itself is a victory!
As a behavioral health clinician, I strive to meet members where they are in their mental health journey with a listening ear and compassion. Together we will work as a team to identify their goals, barriers that may hinder them from achieving their mental health goals, and small steps to improve their quality of life.
How I thrive
I try to practice what I preach and take care of myself when I am not working. I enjoy a good laugh and watching shows with comedy to decompress in the evenings. When weekends allow, taking (short or long) road trips to get out in nature and see different sites fills my bucket as well. Most of all, spending quality time with my husband, two daughters, and our dogs. Even when our family life gets a bit hectic, they all play a huge part in keeping me motivated and centered.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
