Where I practice
I was born and raised in Miami, so the ocean and Hispanic food are always on my mind. My parents taught me to push myself, so when I started college at Florida State University, I decided to continue my education in the medical field. I had recently watched a documentary on cochlear implants and knew immediately that I wanted to help those patients. I returned to South Florida (Fort Lauderdale) for graduate school in audiology at Nova Southeastern University. My last year of school was an externship in any city of my choice and I had my sights set on Atlanta. I took a student intern position at Kaiser Permanente in 2015 and have loved it here ever since.
About my practice
I am a member of the Kaiser Permanente Audiology Department and I am so happy to be part of our team! After training here for one year, I knew that this was where I wanted to continue my career. While my favorite areas of audiology include balance testing (VNGs) and cochlear implants, I enjoy all diagnostic testing.
How I thrive
I have always made "me time" a priority in my life, particularly during times of stress. This could be as simple as reading my favorite book for thirty minutes with my cat on my lap, listening to a favorite song, or having dinner with my best friend. Being from a city with no mountains, I have also realized how much I enjoy getting out of the city for a nice hike. Keeping my body healthy has also become something that is very important to me. Exercising four to five times a week is a routine that keeps me better focused and feeling good. All that being said, during college football season, you are guaranteed to find me enjoying that "me time" cheering on my Florida State Seminoles! Let's go Noles!
