Isabell J. Wells, PA
I speak: English
My gender: Female
Where I practice
I have loved science since seventh grade and attended University of Georgia for my bachelor's degree in biology. After one too many days cooped up in a lab, I decided I wanted to spend more time with people and pursued my master's degree in nutrition. I practiced as a clinical dietitian in Augusta for several years before deciding I wanted to broaden my scope and returned to school to become a physician assistant (PA). I worked as a PA in a private gastroenterology practice for several years before joining Kaiser Permanente. I absolutely love my career, and I love my field of work. Originally from Germany, my dad's job took us to New Jersey and then to Georgia when I was a child. I met my husband while at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and we have one daughter.
About my practice
I am passionate about our members understanding what is going on in their bodies and having them actively participate in decisions regarding their health. I strive to always explain things as fully as I can and in a way that patients understand. I also feel strongly about practicing evidence-based medicine and avoiding unnecessary tests or procedures.
How I thrive
"The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it." - Charles R. Swindoll My husband and I find ourselves rediscovering the world through the eyes of our daughter. To keep my mind engaged outside of work, I enjoy playing board games and reading. I also like gardening (vegetables and fruit trees only), cooking, baking and sewing.
