Where I practice
I was born in southern China and came to the U.S. when I was a teenager. Since then I have lived mostly in New York, with a few years in New Jersey. With practically everyone in my family in the medical field, I wanted badly to be different. I studied computers and was a computer engineer for one of the largest software companies in the world. All was great until I realized what was missing - personal connections and interactions. I volunteered in hospitals, experienced medicine from the patients' point of view, and found my true calling in medicine.
My husband is a cool, Kentucky-born, redhead IT geek. We came to Atlanta in 2015 and fell in love with this unique city with its rich cultures and wonderful people.
About my practice
I am a palliative care physician. The word "palliate" derives from the Latin word "pallium," which means to relieve and to lessen the symptoms. Palliative care is an evolving specialty that provides an extra layer of care and support for any patient who is dealing with chronic serious illnesses.
We have a multi-disciplinary team consisting of physicians, nurses, social workers and chaplains to provide physical, psychosocial and financial guidance for our patients. We work closely with the family doctor, oncologist, cardiologist, pulmonologist, as well as many specialty doctors to provide the total care our members need.
It is well known that the better we live, the longer we live. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for our members and to help them achieve their individualized goals.
How I thrive
I am a foodie and I love to travel. On the weekends we are always looking to discover a new eatery; recommendations are welcome. It was once said, "One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." I hope to travel the world, one place at a time.
