Where I practice
I am a native of Washington, D.C. Growing up, I was repeatedly encouraged by teachers and other mentors to enter a field such as medicine because I was not only an outstanding problem solver, but also a good listener. I chose medicine as a career because I wanted to be able to make a difference and help to improve the lives of others.I have been a resident of southwest Atlanta for over 10 years. I have one daughter, who resides in Maryland.
About my practice
My professional interests include hospital medicine, preventive medicine, hypertension control, diabetes and health education. I have been the managing physician for the Kaiser Permanente Cascade Medical Office in southwest Atlanta since 1999. As the managing physician, I divide my time between patient care and administrative duties. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, I served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Langley Air Force Base Hospital in Hampton, Va.From 1994 to 1996, I served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and deputy director of hospital services at March Air Force Base Hospital in Riverside, Calif.

I thrive by knowing at the end of each day that I have done the best I can to help others improve their physical well-being through shared decision making, health education, disease prevention and disease intervention.My leisure interests include photography, home improvement, physical fitness, attending church, travel and spending time with family.
