About me
I am originally from South Carolina by way of Nashville, Tenn. After the pandemic, I got married and this is what brought me to Atlanta from Nashville. I am grateful for all of my family, which includes a bonus family through marriage.
I chose to become a physician at the age of eight when my paternal grandfather passed from lung cancer. This event encouraged me to become a medical doctor so I could educate and help others in their health. I practice medicine because I want to see people thrive and live long, prosperous, and healthy lives.
About my practice
I am a board certified family medicine physician who has been in practice for over 25 years. I have an ongoing mission to educate, encourage, and empower individuals towards optimal health and longevity so they may be functional in fulfilling the various roles of their life.
Throughout my career, I have served in various roles as a primary care provider, medical practice owner, physician entrepreneur, administrator, collaborating physician for mid-level health providers, medical director, clinical preceptor, mentor, public speaker, community advocate, and leader. My experience has included working in outpatient and inpatient settings, urgent care, procedural care, occupational care, telehealth and corporate wellness. With a warm and personable approach, my aim is to ensure all patients feel like the VIP they are with their health concerns and issues addressed in a compassionate, competent, and efficient manner. My approach to medical care will always emphasize prevention and wellness.
Highlights in my medical career have included medical missions to Africa, being former president of Tennessee Women in Medicine, and being a clinical preceptor to health professions students from medical universities.
How I thrive
I thrive through work-life balance. I enjoy my work as a physician and it is fulfilling. However, to be balanced, I take time for self-care, exercise, prayer, meditation, reading, journaling, and spending quality time with my family and loved ones. Vacation and travel are an essential part of my adventurous spirit to help me reset, refresh, and renew my perspective. I also thrive through giving back to my community. I am grateful to be a part of The Links, Inc., a women's civic organization dedicated to community service. I also enjoy giving back and being engaged in the HBCU Alumni Associations of my alma maters, Meharry Medical College and Spelman College, which were the educational foundations of my career.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
