At Kaiser Permanente, we believe high-quality health care should be affordable for everyone. Drug manufacturers often offer coupons to help people pay for their prescriptions. Starting January 1, 2022, we began accepting some of these manufacturer prescription coupons, but we won't accept all coupons.
Coupons may be accepted by pharmacies owned and operated by Kaiser Permanente when they align with Kaiser Permanente’s preferred prescribing practices and any restrictions or limitations under state or federal law. Keep in mind that the acceptance of coupons is at Kaiser Permanente’s discretion and isn’t a covered benefit.

You can use coupons for medications on Kaiser Permanente’s approved list above. The list of coupon-eligible medications is subject to change without notice, so check this page for the most up-to-date information. Some health plans aren’t eligible for coupon use, and not all coupons are accepted at Kaiser Permanente. Here are several cases when coupons aren’t accepted:
If you use a coupon with a health plan that isn’t eligible for coupon use, you may be asked to pay your standard share of the cost based on your plan details.
The amount you’ll need to pay depends on the manufacturer’s coupon program and your health plan. If a coupon doesn’t cover the entire amount due for your prescription as determined by your coverage, you’ll be responsible for the difference. When you use an approved coupon for payment toward the amount you owe through your coverage, the coupon value counts towards your out-of-pocket maximum.
Please keep in mind prices reflected on kp.org or the Kaiser Permanente app may not reflect final cost to you when refilling medication with a manufacturer coupon. Call your preferred pharmacy to confirm final price of medication using manufacturer coupon.
