It’s so beautiful and often so inexplicable, right?... how you can fall in love with someone.
And here we are, I still love her like I did back then.
We have supported and helped each other through everything.
We have five children, eighteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Having a big, numerous family... when they get together it brings us great joy that can’t be explained, makes my heart bigger
My philosophy, in the way I treat my patients, is to truly try to get to know them, know about their lives, know them at a personal level.
Doctor Sánchez-Padilla has given us a very good service, and has given us lots, and lots of love.
She gives us the confidence to tell her all about our problems, and she has thankfully detected some problems that we’ve had
Doctor Sánchez-Padilla has motivated us to do checkups periodically... And, I was diagnosed with cancer at an early stage.
Within the Hispanic community, colon cancer is the second most diagnosed cancer.
When... they told him that he had cancer... suddenly, well, yes, I cried. I worried a lot.
Two years after my husband... I had a screening, and they also... told me that the results showed colon cancer.
When you hear them speak about cancer, you feel death is upon you, you feel life is over. You hold on to whatever you can to feel courage.
Fortunately, at Kaiser Permanente we have always found the help we needed.
At the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases, colon cancer is a great example of the integrated care team that we offer here at Kaiser Permanente.
Each team is comprised of specialists. We are able to take care of any phase of cancer care.
The way they treated us during the most difficult moments of our illness, it has been so wonderful to me.
Approximately one foot of colon was removed in both Miguel and Paula. Thankfully for Miguel and Paula, we were able to catch the tumor early, remove it, and they’re cured.
The case of Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez is an excellent example of how you can have better results, if you get your check-ups done on time.
After they gave us treatment, after having cancer, in my case, you see life differently. You think, life gave me another chance to be here.
With everyone we talk about this, we tell them not to miss their opportunity, because we should all be getting checkups.
Today they are both cancer-free, and their prognoses are really good.
I know that any time we need medical care, Kaiser Permanente is going to be there for us.
