It’s so beautiful and often so inexplicable, right?... how you can fall in love with someone. And here we are, I still love her like I did back then. We have supported and helped each other through everything. We have five children, eighteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Having a big, numerous family... when they get together it brings us great joy that can’t be explained, makes my heart bigger My philosophy, in the way I treat my patients, is to truly try to get to know them, know about their lives, know them at a personal level. At the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases, colon cancer is a great example of the integrated care team that we offer here at Kaiser Permanente. Each team is comprised of specialists. We are able to take care of any phase of cancer care. The way they treated us during the most difficult moments of our illness, it has been so wonderful to me. Approximately one foot of colon was removed in both Miguel and Paula. Thankfully for Miguel and Paula, we were able to catch the tumor early, remove it, and they’re cured.
