Kaiser Permanente provider
My gender: Male
Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I was born and raised in Michigan. I worked for several years as a paramedic while putting myself through school to complete my bachelor of science in biology. Some of my personal health struggles and love of science shaped my decision to pursue the field of medicine. My love of the outdoors drew me to Colorado after spending a couple years in North Carolina to attend PA School at Duke University. I have a wonderful wife and four beautiful children and feel very fortunate to be living in this great state and work with such a great organization.
I practiced part-time in emergency medicine then spent some time in internal medicine as a hospitalist PA, before deciding that gastroenterology was my true passion. I have been working in GI since 2003 and enjoy all aspects of gastroenterology, but I have particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. We have established a fantastic IBD team here at Kaiser Permanente between nurses, PA's, MD's, and pharmacists. We plan to continue to grow this team to meet the ever changing needs or our patients.
My goal is to provide the most appropriate care for my patients, so they aren't spending extra time or money to get the care they deserve. I believe it is my personal and ethical duty to stay up-to-date on medicine---reading, attending conferences, and discussing cases with colleagues. I pride myself in listening to patients personal needs and will always tailor treatment accordingly, while practicing evidence-based medicine.
I have a passion for medicine and strive to stay up to date while balancing personal life. My particular hobbies are hockey, golf, and anything outdoors. I help coach my boys’ hockey teams when possible. I also enjoy reading and eating my wife’s cooking.
