Where I practice
I am originally from Colorado and only left for a brief period when I underwent my surgical training. I completed my surgical residency at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey. I then completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery with an emphasis on foregut (esophagus, stomach, and diaphragm) diseases at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. After that I was fortune enough to return to Colorado to work for Kaiser Permanente. The most rewarding part about being a surgeon is using my abilities to help patients understand and treat their medical issues.
About my practice
My philosophy is that I will do everything I can to help you. I will treat you like you are a member of my family and every decision I have to make will be based on that. Sometimes this means just educating you on your options. Other times it means the best option for you may be not to operate at all. I often find that patients are told that they have to simply live with their diseases. If I make you better off than before meeting me in any way, then I will have done my job. I provide the full complement of general surgery procedures. My specialty and passion is treating foregut diseases. This includes benign diseases such as severe GERD, hiatal hernias, paraesophageal hernias, achalasia and malignant diseases such as gastric and esophageal cancer. At the Franklin Medical Offices, we are the only providers of the LINX anti-reflux device in Colorado.
How I thrive
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have two children that I love watching grow up. I love being outdoors, especially in the mountains during the winter months.
