Where I practice
I was originally born in Dublin, Ireland, and moved to the United States at the age of 10. I ultimately ended up in medical school in Chicago. I completed my residency and fellowship training at the University of California - Irvine medical center in Internal Medicine. I became chief resident after residency prior to starting my fellowship in gastroenterology. I love gastroenterology because of the depth of patients that we care for as well as the innovation that the field implies. I am passionate about endoscopy and believe in the power of prevention.
About my practice
I believe in a comprehensive approach to gastrointestinal disease, with an emphasis on high quality endoscopic technique and innovation. I believe that patient comfort comes first, and that the patient deserves to be the focus of every visit. Early diagnosis and treatment do prevent disease - a key reason I joined the staff at Kaiser Permanente. I love that I have time to do what I consider a medical grade exam, rather than a business grade examination - having time with the patient allows me to do that.
How I thrive
I am an outdoor enthusiast. I love hiking, camping, and snowboarding. I have never learned to ski, which is a personal challenge for me over the next several years! I am a Broncos fan and am still on the waiting list for season tickets!!! My strength comes from my family - one of the main driving forces behind moving from California to Colorado was the ability to spend time with my family, and the amazing support that people have for family values in this area!
