Occupational Health: Kaiser Permanente On-the-Job®

Recognized for occupational health excellence

Kaiser Permanente is proud to be a part of Washington State Department of Labor & Industries' network of Centers of Occupational Health and Education (COHE). As one of only six COHEs, Kaiser Permanente employs occupational health best practices and works effectively to improve injured worker health and reduce disability.

COHE for injured workers

Accidents—and injuries—happen. Some are minor, some more severe. For those that prevent workers from returning to the job right away, there are occupational health services. Getting you back on the job quickly and safely is a team effort, requiring coordination among your doctor, employer, and claims manager. Injured workers benefit from care that's based on best practices and from providers specially trained in these practices. What's more, employees can get help from a COHE Health Services Coordinator (HSC). HSCs offer claim and process assistance through coordination with employers, workers, and providers—and help workers develop a plan to get back on the job.

Finding an approved provider

Injured workers will need to select a provider within the Department of Labor & Industries' Medical Provider Network (MPN) for ongoing care. Fortunately, Kaiser Permanente's occupational medicine providers — at several locations from Seattle to Spokane—all belong to the MPN. Each provider has a Case Manager that works with you to coordinate return-to-work efforts among providers, employers, unions, and the state's workers' compensation system.

The first step is to call 1-866-967-9675, Option 2 to set up an appointment, or if immediate urgent care is needed go directly to the urgent care or walk-in clinic at one of the locations listed below.

Everyone can get care here

Because Washington state allows workers injured on the job to choose any provider within the Medical Provider Network, you do not have to be a Kaiser Permanente member to receive treatment from our specially trained providers.
