About me
I was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado, but I grew up in Jefferson City, Missouri. I joined the Navy after high school. During a 25-year career in the military, I moved around the country, and also abroad. I've been married for nearly 25 years. My wife is also from my hometown. We have three children. My family and I love the Pacific Northwest, and we now consider Poulsbo, Washington, home.
About my practice
I became seriously interested in medicine as a biology major in college. I had several great physician mentors from my hometown including my family doctor who inspired me to become a family physician. Primary care allows me the privilege of getting to know my patients, while, at the same time, applying my science background to make a positive difference in the lives of my patients. Kaiser Permanente has a great reputation for providing team-based and patient-centered health care. As a family medicine physician, I aim to collaboratively help my patients receive the best health care possible. This approach includes preventive medicine services, such as screening tests and vaccinations if needed. I treat patients of all ages. I especially enjoy caring for veterans and their families. I also offer office-based procedures and contraceptive management options.
How I thrive
I enjoy most outdoor activities including hiking, gardening, and camping. I row with the Kitsap Rowing Association, and I serve as a scout leader with my son's scout troop. I try to set a positive example by living a healthy lifestyle, which includes eating right, keeping physically active, and spending time with my family. Rowing on beautiful Liberty Bay with the Kitsap Rowing Association keeps me physically and mentally healthy; it's how I recharge.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
