About me
I was born in New York City but spent my childhood on the New Jersey shore. After dealing with both personal and family illnesses throughout my childhood, I decided to pursue medicine to accompany and serve patients in times of both health and illness. I received my medical education at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health, where I studied health policy. Besides my work at Kaiser Permanente, I'm a researcher for the UC San Francisco Center for Excellence in Primary Care, where I focus on improving primary care systems. I like to write and have been published in academic journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. I'm married to my best friend and life-teammate.
About my practice
I strive to offer patient-centered care. Through supportive listening and clear communication, I help ensure that patients have the education and support they need to make health decisions that reflect their individual needs and preferences. My goal is to be present for my patients, providing support and guidance as they deal with the uncertainty of illness. I'm grateful every day for the role I am allowed to play in each patient's care. In particular, I love developing relationships with patients over time. I also love the diversity I encounter in family medicine as I am able to treat patients of all ages and backgrounds.
How I thrive
My work day starts with 20 minutes of quiet reflection, where I try to focus on what I am grateful for. I try to exercise most days, whether it's jogging, hiking, taking a walk or trying something new! Recently, my husband and I spent five weeks walking the Camino de Santiago, a 1,000-year-old, 500-mile pilgrimage route across northern Spain. I try to stay connected to my local community through my church and by volunteering at social justice-oriented organizations throughout the city. I love to spend time with my friends, whether it's catching a movie or having a game night.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
