About me
I'm from Malin and Klamath Falls, Oregon, and so blessed to have the best childhood. I had great teachers, like Mr. Mike Kenyon, who inspired me to learn. As a high school student, I enjoyed studying geometry, anatomy, and photography. I knew I wanted to have a family and be able to help people in the health care field. Shadowing my optometrist, Dr. Zelnar; my aunt, who nursed at an eye surgery center in California; and many other eye doctors inspired me to become an optometrist. With God's grace and the love and support of my family, community philanthropy organizations, and schools, I was able to attend Willamette University and then Pacific University College of Optometry and achieve that goal. Optometry has been a great career for me to combine my interests. I'm married to the most wonderful man, and together we enjoy raising 4 energetic, adorable kids in the great Inland Northwest. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because of the excellent team of people who are committed to patient-centered care.
About my practice
I would love to help everyone see their life, vocations, and loved ones clearly. If I'm not able to help, I want to get my patients to the right clinicians who can. For patients who can't see in high definition any longer, I strive to do my best to help them optimize their remaining vision so they can do the things they want to do. Meeting my patients and learning about their jobs and passions is very rewarding. It's a privilege to help people maintain and improve their vision so they can get back to the things they love.
How I thrive
I'm taking a deeper dive into my faith, and I'm participating in a life-coaching program for Catholic moms called Masters. Spending time with my family helps keep me healthy. When we get the chance, I love exploring parks, biking, skiing, and volleyball. We're so blessed in the Northwest to have so much diverse beauty around us.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
