Learn more about MyChart

With MyChart, you can make fast, informed health decisions and get updates about your care — now through a streamlined digital experience. It’s a trusted tool that brings your health information together in one safe place.

As part of our ongoing efforts to deliver the best care and coverage experience for our members, we’ve improved how MyChart works. You still have access to all the same tools. But some features have a new look and are now located under the MyChart section of kp.org.

What’s new?

  • Enjoy a redesigned mobile app experience, including new and improved digital features that make it easier to manage your care and coverage — all in one convenient location.
  • View health information from multiple care providers, including medications, appointments, and test results, by linking your medical records.
  • Review personalized health notifications, like upcoming visit reminders and check-in tasks.
  • See benefit and claims information, as well as important health plan documents, at the enhanced Billing and Coverage hub.
  • Save time during your visit with e-Check-in, which lets you check in for your appointment and complete a previsit questionnaire before you arrive.

And remember — it’s easy to manage your care on the go with the Kaiser Permanente app. To download, just search for “Kaiser Permanente” wherever you get your apps. Not registered yet? You can create your kp.org account in the app or at kp.org/register.

Using MyChart is easy. When you sign in to your kp.org account, you’ll see personalized health notifications and reminders. They include important information about your care, like:

  • Messages from your care team
  • Appointment reminders
  • Lab results

You can connect to these updates directly or see them and other features in your full MyChart health feed. Since MyChart is already built into kp.org and the Kaiser Permanente app, there’s no need for you to create a separate MyChart account.

  1. Once you’ve signed in to your kp.org account, click MyChart in the menu at the top of the page. Or you can click go to MyChart at the bottom of the My health feed section.
  2. Select the menu at the top left corner to view all your MyChart options.
  3. Use the search bar at the top of the menu to find the feature you want, or choose one from the list.

You have a few ways to use the MyChart features in our app, depending on the type of information you want.

  • Use the 6 shortcut tiles at the top of the screen to quickly connect to your most frequently used features. You can customize and change your shortcut tiles anytime.
  • Tap the menu at the top left corner of the screen to see all of the menu options.

  1. Go to the message center using the menu at the top left of the screen.
  2. Select Message Your Care Team, then answer the prompts to choose the topic that best matches your question and the care team member you want to contact.
  3. Review the categories or subject areas for your message — like getting online care, scheduling an appointment, or requesting records — and choose the type of message you want to send within each category.
  4. Select the specific member of your care team you’d like to message.
  5. Enter the subject line and your message, then tap Send.

This makes it easy for you to view all your health information in one place. It’s especially helpful if you're new to Kaiser Permanente, get care while traveling, act for a family member, or often get care at non–Kaiser Permanente facilities.

Linking providers in MyChart is simple. After you sign in, your health updates should include a list of places where you received care recently. To link a provider, simply click on a specific health update.

If you prefer, you can also go to the menu and select Link my accounts under Sharing to see a list of the providers you’ve visited. Click the Link account button next to the provider you’d like to add, and then answer a verification question to finish linking them.

Yes. If you’re a proxy, you can link accounts. A proxy acts as a representative for another person and has the authority to perform actions on their behalf. However, you can only see information you already have permission to view from the other provider.
