MyChart is a leading patient engagement platform that’s been helping Kaiser Permanente members make informed decisions about their health for over 10 years.
With MyChart, you can make fast and easy health decisions and get updates about your care needs — now with a new look and location on kp.org.
What’s changing?
You still have access to all the same tools. Some features have a new look and can now be found under “MyChart,” including:
- Scheduling appointments
- Messaging your care team
- Viewing your test results and medical records
How do I use MyChart?
MyChart is already available through kp.org and the Kaiser Permanente app, so you don’t need to create a separate MyChart account.
When you sign in to your kp.org account, you’ll see your MyChart updates under “Health feed.” They include important new information about your care, like:
- Messages from your care team
- Appointment reminders
- Lab results
You can connect to these updates directly, or access them and more features in your full MyChart health feed.
How to access all your MyChart features on kp.org
1. Click on “MyChart” in the top menu, or select “View health feed” under your health feed preview.
2. Select “Your Menu” in the top left corner to view all your MyChart options.
3. Use the search bar at the top of the menu to find the feature you want, or choose one from the list.
How to access all your MyChart features in the Kaiser Permanente app
You have a couple of ways to access MyChart features in our app, depending on the type of information you want.
- To view all your options: Click on “MyChart” at the bottom of the screen.
- To view your health feed: Click on the “View Action Items” button in the “Action Items” section or click “Action Items” at the bottom of the screen.
How do I message my doctor?
You can message your Kaiser Permanente doctor, view past conversations, and more in the MyChart message center. Also, from the message center, you can manage some appointments, prescriptions, and more without waiting to hear back from your care team. You have a couple of ways to access the message center in your kp.org account:
- From the kp.org home page: Click on "Send a message" which can be found under "Get care". Or click on “Appointments & Care” in the top menu. Under “Messaging,” select “Send a message.”
- From MyChart: Click on “Your Menu” at the top left of the page and select “Care Message Center” or “Send a message” in the dropdown menu, under “Communication.”
How to send a message to your doctor from the message center
- Click on the “Send a message” button. You’ll see a menu appear.
- Select “Ask a medical question,” then answer the prompts. These will include the topic that best matches your medical question and who from your care team you’d like to contact.
- Add a subject line, then type your question in the message field below it.
- To send any medical photos or documents, click “Attach.” You can attach up to 3 items.
- Click on “Send” to submit your message. If you change your mind and don’t want to send the message, click “Discard” or save your message as a draft.
You’ll be able to view all your sent messages later in the message center, under “Conversations.”
How do I view lab results?
After you sign in to your kp.org account, you can access your test results a few different ways.

Choose any of these options:
- Select “View test results” in the “Get care” section under your medical record number.
- Click on “Appointments & Care” in the top menu, then select “Test results” under “Medical records.”
- Choose “MyChart” in the top menu to go to your full MyChart page. From there, click on the “Test Results” icon above your health feed. Or you can click on “Your Menu” at the top of the page, then search or select “Test Results” in the dropdown menu, under “My Record.”

- Click on “MyChart” at the bottom of the page.
- Choose “Test Results” under “My Record.”
How do I view medical records like immunizations?
You can view most medical records online or in our app, including:
- Test results
- Upcoming tests and procedures
- Questionnaires
- Immunizations
- Record, form, and certification requests
They’re available in the “My Record” section of MyChart. You can also access select records from the top menu of your kp.org account, under “Appointments & Care.”

- Select the records you want from the options under “My Record.”

Is my health information secure with MyChart?
As always, your health information is secure on kp.org and our app. Kaiser Permanente has worked with MyChart for over 10 years to help our members safely manage their health online.
Can I still use kp.org and the Kaiser Permanente app to manage my care?
Yes. You can still use kp.org and our app to manage your Kaiser Permanente care online. Some features may have a new look and location, but you can still sign in to your kp.org account and have access to the same tools — and more.
