If you have both Medicare and Medicaid (Medi-Cal in California), you may be eligible for extra benefits. Kaiser Permanente Dual Special Needs (D-SNP) plans let you keep your Medicaid (Medi-Cal) benefits and get more benefits than Original Medicare.

Am I eligible to enroll?

You can enroll in our Kaiser Permanente Dual Special Needs plan if you have both Medicare and Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and live in one of the following areas:

Northern California
Southern California
Colorado (Denver Metro and Pueblo County only)
Georgia
Hawaii (Oahu and Maui only)
Maryland service area

You can enroll during the annual enrollment period from October 15 through December 7, or any other time if you have a qualifying life event such as being new to the area, recently lost coverage, or have had a change in your dual-eligible or LIS (Low Income Subsidy) status.

You can enroll online in 4 simple steps:

Go to our Medicare homepage.
Enter your ZIP code.
Select “Yes” under the “Medicaid?” dropdown and click “Explore plans.” (If you’re visiting the website between October 1 and December 31, you’ll need to select the coverage year.”
Click “Plan details” for more information or “Enroll in plan” to start the enrollment process.

Note: You must meet all Medicare health plan enrollment requirements. In Hawaii, you must also be a current member of the Kaiser Permanente Medicaid/QUEST plan.
