About me
I was born and raised in Malaysia. As a child, I was often sick -- when I was well, it made me appreciate health. This experience inspired me to be a physician. I graduated from medical school in Dublin, Ireland, and completed medical training in the United States, including internal medicine residency and fellowship in vascular medicine and nephrology. I'm happily married to my husband, and we have 2 beautiful kids. I have been practicing nephrology and general internal medicine for a few years, and I previously lived in Western Massachusetts where I practiced internal medicine in an underserved area. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because of the excellent team-based health care system that strives to provide high-quality care to patients.
About my practice
I have a patient-centered approach to care. I encourage my patients to actively participate in their own health while I actively listen to them and address their needs or concerns. Shared decision-making is a crucial part of the care I provide. My areas of expertise include hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and vascular disease. I have a special interest in caring for older adults. It's a privilege to be part of my patients' lives and to provide individualized care over long periods of time.
How I thrive
I stay healthy by eating a balanced diet, getting regular exercise, practicing meditation, and getting enough water and sleep. I stay motivated and inspired by reading books, running and hiking with friends and family, and listening to podcasts. Cooking, gardening, and traveling are other ways I like to recharge.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
