About me
I was born in the state of Virginia, hence my first name. I'm proud to be of Japanese and Taiwanese heritage. I grew up on the East Coast, went to medical school in the Midwest and trained in the South. I then came to the Pacific Northwest for fellowship training in robotic pelvic surgery, and it's so beautiful here that I never left. I come from a family of physicians, so you could say that medicine is in my blood.
About my practice
I went into medicine because it's challenging. I believe medicine is an art not a science. I approach health care holistically, it's about the whole person, not just the diagnosis. As an ob-gyn, I'm particularly interested in surgical patients. I enjoy performing surgery and helping fix problems for patients. I enjoy the intellectual curiosity and challenges that are in medicine. As I see it, ob-gyn is a problem-solving specialty, and I hope to offer patients solutions. I chose to practice at Kaiser Permanente because it is the best example of well-rounded health care. Patients have resources at their fingertips, and not just one doctor, but an entire team ready to serve them.
How I thrive
I strive for a balanced life. I love enjoying the sun in the Pacific Northwest, whenever it comes out, that is. I love mystery TV shows like Monk, Psych, Columbo and Murder, She Wrote. My favorite books are mysteries because they engage my intellectual curiosity. I travel frequently, often to the East Coast to visit family. I exercise every day, including yoga and running. Mindful of nutrition, I don't eat processed foods, and I am interested in vegetarian and vegan issues.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
