Where I practice
About me
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I attended Ohio State University and studied microbiology and Latin American studies. I met my wife at the University of Virginia, where we both completed medical school and residency. We have a wonderful daughter, who keeps us very busy. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because of their collaborative, team-based approach that prioritizes the patient as well as the well-being of the staff. The opportunity to work with a team of experts to provide whole patient care was too exciting to pass up.
About my practice
My approach to care is to focus on the whole person. Problems of the head and neck are often connected to other factors in a patient's health. It's essential to build strong relationships based on trust and respect to improve the health of each individual while also treating the specific disease of the patient. My fellowship training in laryngology provided me with the experience and expertise in treating hoarseness, including in professional voice users -- both work-related and performers. Another major focus of my laryngology training has been in management of airway narrowing (stenosis), with a special focus on idiopathic subglottic stenosis. I also treat patients with neurologic diseases affecting the throat, like vocal cord paralysis, spasmodic dysphonia, and Parkinson's disease. I have experience in transgender voice care. The single most important and enjoyable part of practicing medicine is the relationships I'm able to build with patients. Working together to help patients experience a better quality of life brings me tremendous joy.
How I thrive
Staying healthy is all about being active and getting outdoors with the people I love. Moving to the Pacific Northwest has given our family a great opportunity to enjoy the amazing outdoors. We love to travel, meet new people, and see new places. I also enjoy expanding my cooking skills, especially learning to make new foods from all over the world.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
