Where I practice
About me
I am a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals facing cancer and blood disorders.
Biography
I grew up in British Columbia and completed my undergraduate and medical education in Philadelphia. I then moved to Southern California for residency and fellowship training. I’m happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest with my wife, daughter, and dog.
About my practice
Cancer is a life-altering diagnosis; I aim to understand each patient’s unique story so we can make informed treatment decisions together. I seek to build strong, therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. Practicing oncology allows me to engage in lifelong learning and to be at the forefront of scientific advances, incorporating those into each patient interaction.
Cancer Subspecialty Focus
I treat all medical oncology and hematology conditions with a particular interest in genitourinary malignancies.
I also have an interest in clinical informatics, improving both provider and patient experience with medical technology, and serve on the national Epic oncology steering board.
Collaboration on Multidisciplinary Teams
I actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and complex case reviews to help develop personalized treatment plans. This collaborative approach ensures that patients benefit from the collective expertise of multiple specialists, resulting in coordinated, high-quality care. I serve on our national oncology drug protocol build and review committee along with the interregional genitourinary group.
Research & Clinical Trials Involvement
I am committed to advancing cancer care through participation in clinical research. I serve as a sub-investigator for clinical trials through the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP), helping to bring cutting-edge therapies to our local patient population.
Professional Affiliations
I am a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). These affiliations support my continued engagement in education, research, and collaboration within the national oncology community.
How I thrive
My family and I enjoy exploring our surrounding natural beauty and local food scene.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
