About me
I grew up in San Francisco, California. My medical training took me to Chicago, Illinois; Baltimore, Maryland, back to San Francisco, and ultimately to Seattle, Washington. I married my college sweetheart. My husband and our son and daughter quickly fell in love with life in the Pacific Northwest.
About my practice
The desire to help others was pivotal in my decision to become a physician. I enjoy developing strong relationships with patients and working with a collaborative health care team to provide quality patient care. I have a deep appreciation for the investigative approach and breadth of clinical practice in gastroenterology, which encompasses a broad range of clinical responsibilities from colon cancer screening to the management of chronic conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease. Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract can touch the lives of a diverse group of patients including men, women, the young, and the elderly. It's a privilege to be able to care for everyone. I believe the patient is the primary decision maker when it comes to health care. My job is to listen to patients, provide them with information, and partner with them to develop a plan that aligns with their health care goals.
How I thrive
Spending time with my family keeps me grounded. We enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, and picking berries. I enjoy jogging, yoga, and gardening. Additionally, I am inspired by the opportunity to serve my community in a positive way.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
