About me
I grew up in Everett, Wash., and always wanted to practice medicine with the intention to work in cancer research. After many years of cancer research at the VAMC in Seattle / Tacoma and at the John Wayne Cancer Institute at UCLA, I found that I could impact health and wellness more through primary care. I completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine intending to incorporate physical activity to focus on wellness and prevention as tools for disease management. I have worked in the public sector for over 20 years, and I am excited to join Kaiser Permanente. I moved back to Washington after medical school and training to marry one of my best friends from junior high school who had relocated to Stevens County. In addition to primary care, I teach at the University of Washington/Gonzaga Medical School mentoring first and second year students and supervise Family Medicine residents at the Spokane Teaching Health Center. Training future physicians is an important part of my practice. As part of my belief in treating the entire person and not just a medical problem, I pursued training in medical acupuncture. I am excited to bring this to my practice.
About my practice
I have many years of experience in primary care treating various diseases. My experience in sports medicine taught me that physical activity is a valid treatment and prevention for all chronic diseases. My medical acupuncture training helps to align treatment of the mind and body, which is important in all aspects of medicine. Besides my focus on primary care and sports/physical medicine, I have experience in providing pediatric care, women's health care, and gender-affirming care.
How I thrive
I enjoy outdoor activities in the Inland NW with my husband and our dogs. I enjoy finding healthy food sources through gardening and searching for food on our hikes in the mountains. I love cooking and baking. I started making meals for my family when I was 5 years old. I pride myself on being able to cook a healthy meal from the food in anybody's pantry. In the summer we camp along Long Lake, and in the winters, we snowshoe in Idaho. Maintaining the alignment between mind and body is important; I incorporate yoga into my health routine and believe that acupuncture helps to expand that focus in my medical practice.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
