About me
I was born in California, spent my youth in Minnesota, and then moved to Arizona. After my medical training in Tucson, I practiced in a Community Health Clinic in Chandler, Arizona. In order to move closer to family and towards a different (greener) climate, I moved to Olympia, Washington, in 2007. I'm married to my best friend and we have two boys and one girl. My favorite topics in school were science, math, and art. During my undergraduate years, my mom's illness helped direct me towards medicine and specifically towards family practice. One accomplishment that I am especially proud of is being awarded with Group Health Physicians Regional (Olympia) Excellence Award in 2014.
About my practice
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2007 after conducting an extensive search to find the right fit that would allow collaboration between staff, providers, and consultants, as well as help me continue to grow as a physician. My philosophy of care is to promote the health of each whole person and treat each of my patients as I would want my family to be treated. I work with people of all ages to provide acute, chronic and preventative medicine. My specific medical interests are women's health, sports medicine, chronic disease management. I love the versatility of being a family practice provider and especially enjoy the continuity of care that I get to experience with my patients and their families throughout their lives.
How I thrive
My hobbies include jogging, gardening, and reading. I used to play rugby, but now enjoy it from the bleachers as a spectator. My family and I are avid campers and we make the most of the Washington summers with trips to the coast and lakes. I keep physically active by jogging, going to the gym, and playing with my kids. Seasonal gardening provides my family with healthy produce but also outdoor and family time.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
