About me

I am locally grown in Washington state. I grew up in Bellevue and pursued my undergraduate degree at Western Washington University in Bellingham. Subsequently, I received my medical training in Seattle at the University of Washington. I am married with two young boys. In 2016, I was named a 'Top Doc' by Seattle Met magazine.

About my practice

I had a previous career running a sailing program on Lake Washington, which was fun and rewarding in its own way. Still, I wanted to make a significant contribution to my community. Medicine has always been attractive to me because I love connecting with people and it's a universal need. I am a firm believer in Kaiser Permanente's medical home model of care. I appreciate knowing that every provider and specialist on my team is making evidence-based decisions that are rooted purely in what is best for each patient and not increasing revenues. My goal is to help patients better understand the circumstances surrounding their health, so that they can make informed decisions in a comfortable setting. I am very attentive, and I enjoy learning. I believe that I have as much to learn from my patients as they learn from me. My interests are in preventive medicine, diabetes, sports medicine and LGBTQ.

How I thrive

I really enjoy spending time with my family outdoors, as well as camping, hiking, scuba diving, cycling, running, sailing and skiing. I was once a skiing instructor at Mt Baker; hands-down, it is my favorite mountain in the state. I also enjoy the underwater wilderness that Washington has to offer. I was a once a diver at the Seattle Aquarium participating in the fish feeding shows. If you're really curious, ask me about my time as a professional sports mascot.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.

Search Tips

  • Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
  • Check your spelling.
  • Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
  • Remove any location information from the search terms box.
  • Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
  • Try searching by specialty.
