About me
I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and raised by my maternal grandmother before being adopted. My grandmother and I faced many challenges. She taught me about perseverance and dedication toward loved ones. I moved to Seattle, Washington, after graduating from medical school at the University of North Carolina. Not only am I the first member of my biological family to become a doctor, I'm also the first to graduate from college. Though I'll always be a Southerner deep down, the Pacific Northwest has stolen my heart. My family is spread all over; Chicago, New York and Florida. I love traveling to see them and hosting them in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
About my practice
My early life circumstances and personal experiences helped shape me to become an advocate and caregiver for vulnerable populations. Prior to medical school, I worked as a registered nurse for 3 years. During that time, I took care of adult cancer patients. Although I graduated with honors, my proudest accomplishment of medical school was my induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, which recognizes individuals for practicing patient-centered medical care. I appreciate Kaiser Permanente's emphasis on preventive care. I also value being part of an organization that agrees with my personal philosophy that great primary care is built upon great personal relationships. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow and develop in a healthy environment. I'm especially interested in the developmental and behavioral health of children and adolescents.
How I thrive
I enjoy hiking, camping and backpacking. I love reading, good coffee and snuggling with my dog.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
