About me
I grew up in the beautiful Seattle area and have happily lived here my whole life. I was the first female member and president of the boxing team at the University of Washington, and I loved empowering other women within the sport. I'm allergic to most animals, so the closest thing I have to a pet is a hard-working and dedicated robot vacuum named Meep. One of the most gratifying parts of my job is the ability to care for and get to know people from all backgrounds and walks of life. I love this sense of community and connection with others. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because I am hopeful that the unique model of care can provide solutions to existing problems within the American medical system, improving both quality and sustainability.
About my practice
I believe strongly in the importance of thorough and responsible patient-centered care. My core values are respect for individual differences, equity, honesty, and compassion. I love the learning, variety, and challenge of medicine and get a kick out of the funny stories my patients tell me. Additionally, I am fluent in Spanish. I focus on women's health, obstetrics and maternity medicine, pediatrics, LGBTQIA care, neonatal care, and particularly enjoy doing procedures. Because my scope of practice is so broad, I get to meet so many people, and I learn so much from them. I get to have deep, meaningful conversations about the intimate details of people's lives, and that has helped me to be more informed, knowledgeable, and nonjudgmental as both a doctor and a person. I'm incredibly grateful to my patients, my training, and my job.
How I thrive
I like staying active outdoors, whether it's cross-country skiing, running, hiking, biking, swimming, or learning to sail and surf. I'm also a fan of board games, bouldering, yoga, card games, and video games. Cooking, baking, eating, and spending time with loved ones are other ways I like to unwind.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
